Contains photographs found in the pages of Kane's personal journals. The photographs depict people who are presumably Kane family members, and a house. Several of the photographs have deteriorated beyond recognition. Materials are largely undated and unlabeled, but presumably date from the mid-19th century to early-20th century.

Contains two letters addressed to Kane. One is signed by her mother, Elizabeth Wood Kane and mostly discusses family matters. The other is signed "Carrie" and includes a detailed account of the costs of a sacque that Carrie had purchased on Harriet's behalf. The letter from Elizabeth Wood Kane is undated. The letter from Carrie is dated 1891.

Contains materials related to the life and activities of Kane. These consist primarily of a series of composition books and two letters. The composition books contain mostly letters written by Harriet to her mother, father, and others, but later volumes include medical notes. The letters concern family matters, and a purchase made by a friend on Harriet's behalf. Materials date between 1870 and 1891.

Scope and Contents Contains materials relating to the life and activities of John K. Kane and his wife, Jane Duval Leiper Kane. Among these are a book of letters written by them addressed to Elizabeth Kane, a pocketbook belonging to him, and a set of newspaper clippings found within the book of letters. The letters contain personal advice and correspondence. The medical periodical contains an article about arctic explorer Dr. Elisha Kent Kane, the brother of Thomas L. Kane. The map depicts a road extending between "Old Aquia Ville" and "Stafford Church" in an unknown location.
